Using survey acceptance rules in DeviCloud

What is a survey acceptance rule?
A survey acceptance rule is a feature in DeviCloud that allows users to set a tolerance of accepted deviation from the drill hole plan either as a percentage of hole depth or as a fixed value. Once set, an acceptance region becomes visible in 2D and 3D plots in DeviCloud.
Acceptance rule hierarchy
Acceptance rules are inherited down from a site, project, drill program and to hole. An acceptance rule on a lower level will override any acceptance rules on higher level.
Therefore it is recommended that general rules are set on the site level, with more specialised rules being set on each project, drill program or even on every single hole.
- To add a rule, select 'Add rule'. Select type of rule and enter in your chosen value. In the example below a 5% maximum deviation from depth rule has been specified.
- Immediately after defining or changing an acceptance rule, the 3D plot will be redrawn to reflect the new acceptance rule. It is possible to visualise the acceptance rules on all holes in a drill program, a project or in a site. However this may affect server and load speed when many holes are being viewed, so it is recommended that acceptance regions are toggled off on higher level dashboards.

Survey acceptance rules: calculation results
Currently there are three calculation results related to survey acceptance rules. These are visible in the 2D plots and in results tables:
- Distance to plan
- Accepted distance to plan
- Distance to acceptance boundary. Positive means inside tolerance (accepted), negative means outside tolerance (not accepted).
